microHD: Problem After Editing Channel List

$

Seem to have had a problem doing the edit here. Saved the .udf file and edited the SID to zero and exported as UDF to the USB stick. Loaded the edited file into the Micro. Seemed to load ok until it re-booted, then came up with no channels. Did a reset (disconnected the 12v etc) and still no channels. Tried loading an older .udf file and I get an error "file too large". Did another reset and tried to re-scan satellites... as soon as it locks into a channel I get the "error: no space available".
I have done the database editing many times. Never had this problem before.

Will try a main software update (re-load) and see if we can get the memory working again...

Signal strength flips between 10 & 90 regardless of dish position (4DTV DSR921)

My 921 has stopped working. Signal strength flips between 10 and 90 regardless of where dish is pointed. No longer receives usable signal. Happens on both C and Ku bands. Disconnect LNB and signal strength stays at 10. LNB voltage OK (approximately 20VDC). Any idea what's wrong?

Alternate Firmware Status and Reviews

I did a Google search for 3rd party firmware for the AZBox Premium / Elite.
These are some of the results that came back:

Prismcube
Neutrino
AZTrino
OpenRSi
Enigma2
OpenPLi
Android
Open AZBOX Mod (OAM2)

Does anybody know of a good AZBox support site or forum that is still active? Please post the links. I'm looking for reviews or discussions of 3rd party non-official firmware for the AZBox HD Premium?

Has anybody here tested recent versions of this firmware? The last time I checked, the 3rd party firmware was not up to par with the official factory firmware. It's been a year - has anything changed?

(GEOSAT) {microHD} Portable power?

So, am I thinking something like this could be used to plug in the microHD? With my portable rechargeable TV and a portable power supply for the microHD, it means I'd only have to take a small coax out to the dish for adjusting and experimenting :)

Dish Tweaking – Two Laptop Method

In reference to northgeorgia post (http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/...Portable-power) about taking portable TV and receiver out to dish, I was doing that for a while but I got tired of dealing with plugs and cords.

I have two laptops with two different Skype accounts. One sits in front of TV, the other is with me at the dish while I make adjustments. Tuning must be done slowly as there is a tiny bit of lag between the two laptops but otherwise this setup works pretty well.

You could substitute any device with a camera for the TV laptop then network it to the laptop at the dish and it would still work.

Several people have shown/described how and what they use to align their dishes. I have chosen to take everything to the source (the dish). I bought a sealed lead acid 12V battery, put it in a lunch bag with the wiring, then took my little 7" TV w/ AV input and my MicroHD to the dish. I watch the monitor while listening to the tone to maximize the signal, using the remote as necessary. This battery lasts several hours, even when setting up a motor.

[Openbox] S9 Firmware recomendation needed

I have an Openbox S9 that about three months ago started giving me trouble. I have jumpered the polyfuse and that has cured the LNB’s dropping out. However the picture still freezes up.
I can change channels and it will play for a few seconds then it also freezes up. I have done a master reset several times and reflashed the firmware. However I can’t watch it an hour without it freezing. I would like to try a different firmware version and was hoping that someone here would give me a recommendation. I am using the 12/2 firmware now. I need something with North American Satellites, that is stable, and that won’t give me lip-sync issues while recording. I was at the S9 firmware site but nothing seems to be current. I know this is an older receiver. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. This is kind of a last ditch effort. I fear it is the power supply.

Thanks

[AZBox] MiniMe Problems

I am having a problem with my AZBox MiniMe. It seems to be locked up and unresponsive. All it will do is say it is booting up, which takes forever, and then it shows a black screen with the gray channel banner at the bottom, with no information on it, just the gray banner. It will not respond to remote control commands or anything.
Is there some way to reset it? If it would respond to any remote commands I could do a factory reset, but as it is, I can't do anything.

[GEOSATpro] Reboot issue solved?

$

In another thread is was stated:

"There is no risk of reboot looping if you use the latest firmware and never load a user database file that was created on old firmware (before version .13). Remover the power source for a few moments after loading any files to the micro to clear any legacy memory blocks."

I understood that if a satellite was deleted without first removing the associated channels, it would cause a reboot loop. Has this been fixed?

[GEOSATpro] New microHD Firmware Release: GSPMHD_20130626 Available for USB and Satellite Update (OTA-SSU) 06/26/2013

June 26th, 2013

Minor Firmware Update is Available

GEOSATpro firmware GSPMHD_20130626 for USB Update and maincode 2013-6-26 for Satellite Update
(via Galaxy 19, freq. 12115, PID 330)

Warning: The GSPMHD_20130626 / maincode date 2013-2-18 is a main system file and will overwrite all user settings and channel scans.

We strongly recommend users to perform a Factory Reset and Remove the Power Plug for 10 seconds to power cycle the STB after the firmware update is completed.

Important Clarification about loading .udf files created with previous firmware versions. We DO NOT recommend loading old User Database files (.udf) that were saved on previous firmware versions older than 0.13. While the saved .udf file may be fine and cause no operational issues, the file could contain data that will cause the microHD to enter a reboot cycle. Please follow our recommendation of rebuilding your channel list using the database file that is in this firmware.

You may safely load any User Data Base (.udf) file created and saved from a microHD operation on firmware version 0.13 or newer. If you have an older User Data Base created with firmware older than 0.13, use the attached new Satellite/ Transponder list. If you use a switch or motor, you will need reconfigure and re-enter your location Longitude and Latitude settings.

MicroHD Firmware Notes:

Date: 6/26/2013
Version: GSPMHD_20130626 / maincode dated 2013-6-26

  • Modified PID/SID Auto Update - Modified the PID/SID auto update function to prevent overwriting of existing program and service identifications.

  • Satellite List - Name Changes

azbox minime

Hello all!
So I got this Azbox minime american edition to watch so fta channels. I have a 39in dish that I wanted to put on a motor however I do not have a motor at the moment. Unfortunately, unlike commercial dishes (like Shaw and Bell) setting the elevation on this is a bit weird since there is no distinctive "line" to tell me where the elevation is so to on the scale, I'm assuming it is the center of the bolt.

Anyway that beside the point I have an analogue satellite finder. I am looking to pick up 97w (seemed like a good starting point with lots of interesting channels until I can setup a motor). I live in south-western nova scotia so according to dish pointer my dish elevation should be 30deg. I set it to that, and aimed the dish until my satellite finder started squealing and then fine tuned it, however when I came inside the house and checked the Quality on the receiver, it was 0.

I was checking the quality on the last TP that is programmed in the minime for 97KU west, 12177 V 23000 which is a live TP with channels like TBN and Smile of a Child. In theory, if the satellite finder isn't lying, and I understand the scale correctly on the dish it should show some quality, no?

I have a cheap Universal 9750/10600 LNB connected and the receiver is configured to it, however perhaps there is a bug with this type of LNB in the firmware? I can't really think of anything else that could go wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.

[GEOSATpro] DVR HD Recording Quality

$

Last night I recorded BBC News from LPBHD at 87W at 6:00 pm ET. I guess this may be the first time I have recorded an HD broadcast. The quality of the recording was not good. Text on the bottom of the screen was fuzzy such that I rubbed my eyes thinking they were out of focus. I did not see the live broadcast, but normally LPBHD is extremely clear to my eyes. Am I doing something wrong?

I am accustomed to commercial pay TV DVRs which when I record an HD program I can't tell the difference between the live broadcast and a recording.

I've got one of these that I'm going to let go with that SAMI dish and I'd like to hook that thing up to the dish to see how it works. What I'm wondering is if there is any sort of "updated" satellite list for those things that I could get and install in it?

I know this is probably a long shot but I figure that as many of these things as there are out there, someone has to have some sort of updated list that they'd part with.

Any help fellas?

Thanks
